A conversation with artist María Gaspar and her work with the color “brown” led me to thinking about all the songs we have related to “brown” as a metaphor for our Latinidad, and in Spanish, those that speak of piel morena. So, inspired by all these ideas, this week’s Beat Latino is an ode to the color brown and the Browning of America!
