From Colombia, Puerto Candelaria has taken its “cumbia rebelde” all around the world. The band is known for putting on theatrical, magical realism-infused shows where each musician dresses and performs as characters based on different archetypes central to Latin culture, such as the priest and the politician. At SXSW, we got the story on the joyful and slightly absurd fictional port town world they create and its wonderful music.
