The Guadalajara-based quintet Pumcayó creates delicate, finely structured artisanal folk music, firmly rooted in Mexico and that land’s colors and textures. The band brings a lovely attention to the visual details of their materials and merch, as befits a quintet headed by two architects! We checked in with Federico Díaz de León and Saúl Figueroa at SXSW to chat about their musical vision and their upcoming debut album.
